ALL SWIMMERS SELECTED FOR TEAMS IN 2012 MUST SUPPORT THE LEAGUES GALAS
The league galas are very important for DCA – we are a competitive swimming club.
The coaches would like to see a huge improvement in commitment and attitude in 2012 from swimmers selected to compete in the league galas. Teams will be announced early in the New Year. Put the dates in your diary and phone reminders now - please make every effort to attend.
Information on the League Galas
- DCA has 2 teams in the Leagues for 2012 – Team 1- Premier Team 2-1st Division
- Each team hosts one gala throughout the year.
- Promotion / relegation is on a one up / one down basis.
- The Squad Coaches select the strongest teams possible and request that swimmers take part.
- Teams selected for the league galas will be posted on the DCA website and swimmers selected will be notified before each gala.
- Swimmers selected to represent the club must make every effort to attend.
- If there is a reason a selected swimmer cannot compete at a league gala they must inform their coach at the earliest possible opportunity to allow a reserve swimmer to be informed and to allow the team to compete at full strength.
- This also allows time for all the necessary paperwork involved with the leagues – registration of swimmers, team lines, relay teams etc to be completed and submitted within the necessary timescale before each league gala.
- If just one swimmer does not turn up then two relay team races are missed out and the other three swimmers in the team don’t get their relay team swim. The club then can miss out on up to 10 points for these two races alone.
- All selected swimmers, parents/guardians, please support DCA and make every effort to attend the league gals which give swimmers the opportunity to compete as part of the team and it is also a great opportunity to widen their circle of swimming friends in DCA and other competing clubs.
Please support the hard work carried out by all the coaches, helpers and volunteers, and the Squad Coaches who select and manage DCA Team 1 & 2 in the Premier and 1st Division Leagues in 2012.

DCA Premier Division Match
Dear swimmer
You have been selected to represent the club in the first Premier League gala of 2012 which will take place on Saturday 4 February at Kinross Leisure Centre, Warm up is at 3 pm. Please meet at the pool at 2.45 pm.
It is important that selected swimmers compete in the League Galas - swimmers and parents should make every effort possible to attend. Club caps and tee shirts must be worn by ALL swimmers.
If you are unable to compete please inform me ASAP as reserve swimmers will need to be notified.
It is also important that you contact me if you are ill on the day as soon as you can. Thank you.
Each swimmer will compete in one individual swim, and also in the freestyle and medley relay events (providing there are full teams in each age group).
